I have been struggling with a hearing loss for many years. I was privileged to be examined initially by the famed Dr. House many years ago. He determined my hearing loss was the result of nerve damage caused by combat action in WWII and by the constant firing of weapons during the first part of my 43 years with the LA PD, without proper hearing protection.{that situation has since been corrected}. Through the years my hearing has worsened and I have had to consult with hearing specialists many times. I have come to respect the profession of audiology, and have had the services of some of the best.
